SIMS Employee Portal

The SIMS Employee Portal is a value-added personnel tool that significantly increases productivity and efficiency for your security department. Employees that need access to their personnel data must typically send requests through the security team; this time-consuming and inefficient process places an extra burden on security staff. The SIMS Employee Portal is a self-service feature that gives employees the ability to proactively access, review and validate personnel data stored in SIMS, such as clearance status, foreign travel and training records. In SIMS v7.29, the SIMS Employee Portal was redesigned and is part of the SIMS installer. The SIMS Employee Portal is available at no additional cost and without using one of your concurrent SIMS licenses.
Product Features
- Configurable Portal – The portal can be tailored to meet an organization’s specific needs. Modify the visible columns and column names, and modules.
- Any employee with a SIMS Personnel record can be granted access to data stored within their individual SIMS Personnel record, without requiring the use of a SIMS license and at no additional fee.
- Employees can upload PDF files (training certificates, briefings, etc.) and record their training completed dates to the SIMS Employee Portal tab of their Personnel record. All other functionality is read-only; employees do not have permission to change or delete other stored information.
- Supports secure access using Active Directory or SAML authentication; employees will not be able to log in and view another individual’s information.
Employees can review:
- Current clearance level and status (granted, briefing and reinvestigation dates)
- Information related to Accesses (SCI, COMSEC, NATO)
- Active Contracts, including Access and Cease dates, Documents and Outgoing Visits.
- Foreign travel locations and travel dates.
- Personnel training information to validate their records against their SIMS training records. Additionally, a configurable option enables employees to update their own completion dates for training courses.
- In SIMS v7.30, a new Direct Reports tab is being added and will enable supervisors to view basic information for the employees they manage.
