Tom Langer is the Principal of Atlantic Security Advisors, LLC, a consultancy in the broad spectrum of industrial security, FOCI, risk mitigation and leadership development.

Tom was the Vice President of Security for BAE Systems, Inc., headquartered in Falls Church, VA, from 2002 until his retirement in July 2019. BAE Systems, Inc. is the U.S.-based arm of BAE Systems plc, headquartered in London, England. In this position Tom was accountable for the overall security program for the Company’s facilities in the U.S., the United Kingdom, Sweden and Israel, and the Company’s compliance with the Special Security Agreement between BAE Systems, Inc. and the U.S. Government. During Tom’s tenure, BAE Systems, Inc. sites were the recipients of twenty-one James S. Cogswell Awards for Industrial Security Excellence and two national Counterintelligence Awards from the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA).

Prior to this position, Tom served from November 2000 to September 2001 as the Director of Security for BAE Systems, Inc.’s Information and Electronic Warfare Systems in Nashua, NH. Before the company was acquired by BAE Systems, Inc. in November of 2000, Tom served as the Director of Security for Sanders, a Lockheed Martin Company.

From 1980 until 1999, Tom held a series of leadership, program and management positions within the security department of Sanders, involving areas such as classification management, information security, facility security and investigations. Tom served as a sworn officer of the Manchester Police Department in Manchester, NH from 1977 until beginning his security career with Sanders.

Tom received his Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from St. Anselm College in Manchester, NH, and his Certified Protection Professional (CPP) from ASIS International.

Tom currently serves on the Boards of Directors for American Rheinmetall Vehicles in Sterling Heights, MI, American Rheinmetall Services in Biddeford, ME and as the Security Officer for Sumo Group Limited, a UK based video game design company operating under a U.S. National Security Agreement.

Tom served as a member of the Board of Directors and President of ASIS International and was previously chairperson of the Aerospace Industries Association’s Industrial Security Committee and a member of the National Industrial Security Program Policy Advisory Committee of the Information Security Oversight Office within the National Archives.
