SIMS Software Expands Comprehensive Product Suite by Obtaining Licensing Rights to Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory Foreign Travel Tool

The foreign travel reporting component of the Security Executive Agent Directive 3 (SEAD 3) went into effect August 24, 2022. This new mandate requires all federal contractors to comply with the new foreign travel reporting requirements for all covered individuals. The new APL Foreign Travel Tool integration will enable SIMS customers to automate and streamline these reporting requirements while providing a more expansive and interactive web-based user interface for their travelers. The tool will integrate into SIMS Personnel module and the SIMS expanded fields for SEAD 3 foreign travel records, allowing customers to leverage SIMS as a centralized system of record to track and report on foreign travel.

Additional key features the Foreign Travel Tool integration offers include automated email notifications for staff traveling to high-risk or elevated health-risk countries, employees can log into the APL Foreign Travel Tool and submit travel and itineraries. The tool can dynamically prompt for more information based off travelers’ accesses and the fields required to populate the necessary government forms required. The tool provides dashboard display notification form reviews by Export Control and various levels of security professionals and auto generates post travel questionnaires. Upon travel completion, the tool imports the travel information into the travelers SIMS foreign travel record, providing security stakeholders with a comprehensive single system of record for their personnel. The tool reduces costly time and resources of staff by streamlining and automating the labor-intensive foreign travel reporting process while providing robust management level foreign travel reports.
