SIMS Software Celebrates Milestone 35th Anniversary and Unveils New Brand Identity
SIMS Software, the most trusted name in industrial security management, proudly announces the celebration of its 35th anniversary in 2018. The company has successfully served the United States government and defense industry for over three decades, establishing a sizable foothold in one of the nation’s most demanding and competitive market spaces.
The SIMS story began in 1983 when U.S. Navy veteran Jim Conrad envisioned a better way to track security clearances within the federal government and the defense industry. After years of participating in classified programs, he understood the importance of protecting America’s trade secrets, especially the tools of warfighting. At the time, access to sensitive information was manually controlled via recipe card files and spreadsheets or other rudimentary in-house solutions. After engineering a software product that would automate this process, Jim packed up his car and made the 300-mile trek to Vegas to debut the first Security Information Management System (SIMS) product at the NCMS conference.
Fast forward 35 years and SIMS Software is now relied upon by America’s top defense contractors and national security stakeholders. To support continued growth and expansion, the company also recently moved its worldwide headquarters to a larger facility in Carlsbad. As one of the nation’s thriving defense sector hubs, the San Diego region is the ideal location for SIMS Software to continue engineering and manufacturing products that serve this critical market segment.
In conjunction with the 35th anniversary, SIMS Software has also unveiled a new brand identity. The new logo features an ultra-modern aesthetic and contemporary colors that speak to the company’s evolution. With its futuristic look and feel, the logo evokes the idea of the digitally-driven future: one in which SIMS Software remains dedicated to full automation in industrial security management and staying ahead of the curve with industry and customer requirements. The new aesthetic carries through all brand assets, including the fully revamped web site, www.simssoftware.com.
“The 35th anniversary of SIMS Software is an incredible source of pride,” said Michael Struttmann, president, SIMS Software. “Looking back, we can celebrate the lasting contributions we’ve made, which literally changed the way companies approach industrial security, for the better. Looking forward, there is infinite potential to continue challenging ourselves and stay true to our pioneering spirit. Every business aims to turn an idea into reality, and that requires the trust and validation of customers. It’s an honor to work with some of the most renowned and respected organizations in the world, whose loyalty and partnership are the reasons why we’re here today. I’m also incredibly appreciative of the SIMS team for their talent and commitment. They make the difference.”
Struttmann continued, “Technology is what we create, but the key to our success is an incredible sense of mission. We are driven by the passion and purpose that comes with being a part of something greater. By safeguarding our customers’ classified and high-value information, SIMS Software plays a vital role in protecting our nation and our allies around the globe. With our proven longevity, vision and leadership, SIMS Software is uniquely positioned to continue shaping the future of industrial security management for the next 35 years and beyond.”
