Job Description
SIMS Software is immediately seeking to on-board a Senior QA Engineer in Carlsbad, CA 92010 to join our QA team to ensure the high-quality delivery of SIMS Software products.
Required Skills and Experience:
- 7+ years software testing experience, preferably on web and services platform.
- Hands-on experience using tools such as Jira and Zephyr for issue tracking and test cases.
- Experience working with and writing SQL database queries.
- Demonstrated ability to quickly grasp complex, technical concepts.
- Must possess excellent problem-solving skills, and the self-motivation to improve skills.
- Must be able to work independently with general supervision and as a member of a team.
Helpful Skills:
- Experience with test automation concepts for web applications utilizing Selenium WebDriver with Java (no click and record).
- Experience developing and executing API tests using Postman.
Responsibilities Include:
- Act as the primary QA resource supporting the QA Manager
- Understand the importance of deadlines and push to meet them.
- Understand the broader goals of the company and help the QA Manager support them.
- Reviews functional requirements or user stories and determines testing requirements.
- Creates and executes manual test cases on each product’s functional areas.
- Accurately records and clearly documents all actual and expected results.
- Communicates with developers, product managers, and other technical specialists on product issues such as bugs and errors.
- Makes recommendations to management for continuous improvement.
